Today is the 45th anniversary of MLK's "I have a dream" speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. That may be what Obama is trying to evoke, except that the platform doesn't really resemble the Lincoln Memorial. Have to wait and see what Obama says, but I agree with you that the platform really muddles the message. Too much focus on it too.
