I just saw (on another thread) a post of a replica of half of Air Force One being hauled to Mile High. The picture was accompanied by imaginative ideas about Obama's entrance or exit on it, written in aghast but delighted tones.

My blood ran cold as nightmare visions of Kerry's Swiftboat entrance ran through my mind. Surely not. Surely O. wouldn't do anything that insane. THis is worse than his descending from the heavens a la deus ex machina (please note use of both French and Latin in same PHRASE!)amid clouds of dry ice, which I hear they have been stockpiling in Denver and which was an earlier theory.

I rushed to Google, and learned that there were two replicas made, one for each of the conventions where there are (or will be) exhibits of Presidential Americana, including a full size Oval Office. The Denver one was delivered Aug 19, the Minneapolis one Aug 24.

I offer this just in case someone else had read this and was having a stress reaction.

To me, Gergen and Buchanan both are astute observers of the political process and are able to set aside their own political affiliations when they comment.

I always stop and listen when either of them is on.
