You see the system as fixable, the state as capable of redemption, and I do not. I look at these politicians, and observe trapped little men, constrained by their many conflicting allegiances, confounded by their own sense of self-importance. I am an optimistic person by nature, yes. And I do believe that Obama presents an opportunity to change course. Look, we have the choice between him, or McCain....that's it. I know that McCain is definitely not that agent of change, Obama is the only choice at this time. I am definitely willing to give him a shot. McCain is the play it safe (I think he is dangerous, myself), business as usual candidate. Civilizations and cultures have seasons, and death is part of life. Very true, and I will be happy to see the current culture of leadership die off, and a new approach born.
