Tenchu,

Wow Joe, good call! EOM

Thanks. The reason I liked her is that Her selection brings forward 2 issues, which we will be reminded of during her every appearance:
- Dem opposition to drilling - and indirectly, their responsibility for high gas prices
- She is a woman. Dems need the "gender gap" to win. Obama is not doing that great with women

Besides that, she seems like a genuine, warm person. While this may drive partisans and ideologues crazy, a lot of people pick the more likable person which is one reason we have 2 terms of Bush, rather than Gore and Kerry. The margins of both Bush victories were small, and likeability factor probably put Bush over the top.

Now, this is not the top of the ticket, so it only accounts for so much, but I think voters will view Palin more favorably than Biden. And I can't wait for someone to attack her resume / credentials (or lack of thereof). It will only be a reminder that the other party put an inexperienced guy with limited accomplishments on top of their ticket.

Joe
