Sarah Palin just faced a crisis pregnancy. It's standard practice when the amniocentesis reveals a Down Syndrome baby for the doctor to discuss the possibility of aborting the pregnancy; the option is offered. Sarah Palin just had a Downs baby this spring. The discussion is not hypothetical to her.

No, it's not hypothetical at all.

Then, on the other hand, in contrast, there's Obama's "I don't want my daughter punished with a baby" remark.

We went through that 21 years ago...I know the doctor was just covering his hinny and we went had a period of worry over lack of movement by the baby, but the decision was made that it didn't matter(my wife is properly blessed with the "mothering gene", thankfully).

Turns out we had a peach of a daughter...at the age of 20, she is already shopping for a house on 40 acres. Those tests are not that reliable.
