The only reason they were in Iraq is because we were.

That does not change the fact that Obama was advocating leaving the battlefield at the time Al Quaeda was there. Our withdrawal at that time would have meant US defeat and Al Quaeda victory.

While Obama's position might have had a justification in his own, hypothetical world, it made no sense in real world.

I hope GOP convention points it out in no unclear terms.
