It answers the question, what has Obama ever done on the national stage? Palin is a total blank in that department. Anyone who ever worked in Washington knows the importance of having a sense of who the players are and how the games are played. You can't just show up and try to change them all by imperial decree. Carter did that as an outsider and it was a miserable failure. Between Obama's successful campaign and knowing Biden is down the hall whenever a crisis comes up, I'm comfortable with how they would cope with whatever comes along. If McCain succumbs to age sometime before 77, I think we have a big problem with a fringe-state governor who couldn't find her way across the Potomac without a driver and escort.
