I think she will be easy to hammer. Beauty Queen may be nice for some things, like first lady, but it isn't what you think of when you think of someone leading your country. Remember the Iron Lady? Indira? The great female leaders haven't been beauty queens. Beauty is a distraction, and really, a liability- when you want people to take you seriously.

AS for her family, I don't think people want to think about the president having a family. People want to think of the president giving 100% of his time to the country. They don't, of course, but her situation makes it almost impossible to imagine her dedicating herself to the country- and if she did she'd be ignoring those little babies.

Finally, she went to a nothing school, has only a BA, and doesn't seem to be a great thinker. She obviously has charisma enough to serve her in her little state- but that is not a national stage. The reason Obama rose to prominence was his great NATIONAL address 4 years ago. He's been to Harvard- where the competition is beyond brutal, and he was editor of the law review- a job everyone in the school wants. The little baby Barracuda might be a Barracuda in the waters off Alaska, but she's going to be hauled in and gutted nationally. She just isn't ready for prime time- she simply hasn't had the time to shape her image. I wonder how soon and how big her first gaffe will be :-)

I'm all for hammering her and hammering her and McCain hard, until they are both as flat as pancakes- but I have to tell you, I am thrilled by his pick. Thank you John McCain :-)
