I worked on a commercial fishing boat in Alaska in the early 80s. We used to have two comments concerning Alaskans: 1. The closet garbage dump was the distance they could throw off the front porch; 2. Everyone was there temporarily until they had made enough to go South. Of course such simplistic nonsense is worthless, except, it did illustrate a perception one had after being up there a while. Man, did I have a good time when off the Boat. They really knew how to party all night long in the local bars. I had to quit because I was starting to have issues with paranoid delusions coupled with substance abuse and too much fun. Oh, well....it was an experience. Lew
