Hello
foreign policy contributes to our problems at home. We really do live in a global economy. My husband routinely conferences with folks in India, and China, the UK and Australia. The world's problems ARE our problems- since our companies and economies are so entwined. To be ignorant of what is outside our borders when making decisions, means that things won't go so swimmingly within our borders.

Not to mention one of our big drains on capital right now (capital that could be spent dealing with day to day problems here) are the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. I don't see how it's "seductive" to focus on foreign policy- it's more like critical for our interests.
