I didn't read the link because that is the negative consequence I saw myself in the ER subsequent to its passage...some unethical moms accusing dads of sexual abuse during contentious divorce battles, a common one...ruthless lawyers sometimes led the charge..

We couldn't stand them..but their motives usually were pretty transparent and at least for us, our wonderfully competent social workers, able to get them to back off when we noted the discrepancies, in some cases..

That said, the system was so WOEFULLY stacked against women and children facing violence at home, it's a problem that yes, had to be dealt with, but was a tiny issue compared to not having this law...........btw, do you know how hard it is to keep a genuinely abusive father away even with this law? this area is where my passion and work took off during the later years of my active nursing..
