It's way south, like in the mid-Gulf. That's what'll get it to a 5. Right before NO there's some colder water that I believe will knock it down. Much like the set-up with Katrina....

The storm has bombed, as we've predicted. It's a very dangerous storm at this point, and likely to not get much better before landfall. I don't think I'd wanna be short natural gas or crude futures this weekend. <NG>

Another view of the loop current eddy in the Central gulf (coloring the rest of the gulf 'blue for cool' is a bit of an exaggeration, LOL)



BTW for anyone who gets Direct TV, they have a "Hurricane Information Channel" set up for traffic conditions for evacuation and presumably stuff like school and work closings, shelters, etc, etc. It's on channel 363.
