What troubles me is that there was this money assigned to AK for the purpose of the bridge, then when the bridge wasn't built- having become the brunt of all the Bridge to Nowhere jokes-- and the money not used, Coburn tried to get the money reassigned to the bridge over Lake Pontchartrain which needed repairs. He lost. The money was left in the general AK fund, where Palin could spend it as she liked--
The bottom line is she took the pork.
