Which probably explains the state of our government, and our roads and bridges, and our schools... I've long thought we should really minimize the sports in schools- my students in football, for example, can't do much homework because they get home exhausted after hours of afternoon practice. Now if those kids were going to be professional players, you could almost understand- but they're not. I sigh. I'm 100% for good health and physical fitness, but football is not really a lifetime sport for most men. We ought to be teaching kids how to do yoga and Tai Chi, and how to maintain a sensible exercise plan- and then make sure we stress academic excellence so we can kick the asses of the Chinese, who do take education seriously.
