Any person.....man or woman...who is against abortion when a woman is raped or when her life is in jeopardy.....is heartless in my book. Looks like Palin draws a distinction: she's against abortion when a woman is raped (at least if it's her own teenage daughter), but in favor of abortion if the mother's life is in danger: dwb.adn.com "The [AK governor] candidates were pressed on their stances on abortion and were even asked what they would do if their own daughters were raped and became pregnant. "Palin said she would support abortion only if the mother's life was in danger. When it came to her daughter, she said, 'I would choose life.'"

Any person.....man or woman...who is against abortion when a woman is raped or when her life is in jeopardy.....is heartless in my book. Some would say aborting a fetus because it had Down's syndrome would be heartless. Apparently Palin knew her fifth child had Down's syndrome before he was born. That puzzles me a little, because I thought the amniocentesis by which they make such a diagnosis was elective and wouldn't be done unless the course of the pregnancy depended on the outcome.
