Uh-oh. Wow, McCain is a Decider. Maybe they're vetting her now though, just in case.

It's still a few days before her nomination, so they could just plug in someone else, right?

Interesting article.

The next day, McCain studied the three men at the top of his shortlist: Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge. All had different strengths and negatives, but McCain was not satisfied. None of them had what McCain believed he needed to do -- and would have done -- with Lieberman.

Lieberman? I cannot understand why McCain thought Lieberman was such a great choice.

edit: And McCain had eight years to think about a vp choice. Why the last minute decision?
