The Bridge-to-Nowhere was a major lifetime career goal of our Congress critters, and Palin was just the new kid running errands while learning on the job, so I'd give her a pass on this.

The money angle is a bit complicated, but please understand that Alaska was already entitled to a bunch of discretionary transportation money. Don Young and his cronies bundled it up into an earmark, which would have forced the state to buy a bridge that many people didn't want. After she got elected, it took a while to get all that unwound, and sort out the competing demands for funding, and cancel the bridge.

So... she just needs to review the time-line and clarify her bridge talking points. She does deserve credit for killing the bridge project, because she defeated Murkowski. We did get a little extra money, but they've been gouging us ever since.
