Snowshoe, thanks for the response and I will check out this "dividend" deal further. I thought a very large percentage of Alaska was owned by us sometimes referred to as the Federal Government...I've seen percentages as high as 99%.

I will assume these so called "dividends" are nothing but Alaska Government handouts which if passed on to Americans in urban areas are called socialism or welfare or just downright "evil" by those staunch, get up by your own bootstraps conservatives.

Very interesting that when oil owned by all of us goes up dramatically somehow windfall profits turn into "dividends" for a few certainly not by any capitalistic shareholder ownership route but then this is "good socialism".

And btw, I understand Palin is said to be an energy/oil expert by virtue of her Alaska experiences and she is also a strong believer in "Creationism" and the literal word of the Bible on the age of the earth. How does that square with the science of geology which I understand has something to do with the fundamental understanding of oil and its discovery among many other things?
