Thanks Sam...the lower 48 is going to learn a lot more about Alaska politics and welfare...probably more than some bargained for. I recently saw a WSJ article on Palin and the new pipeline and Exxon and its drilling activities on some leases they have in the Alaska Oil Preserves. It came out right after the Exxon/Valdez SC decision on damages and Palin was all upset about Exxon and also because they were not drilling on their leases. She essentially was telling them..."use it or lose it". Where have I heard that before? Yup, open up ANWR...we need it to maintain our way of life as long as we can breathe the air, keep out of the path of yearly 100 year storms and run our AC units and if you are Alaskan get the "dividend" check, hopefully increasing. But hey, on the brighter side, we are going to get our chance to decide whether we want "Creationism" taught from the bully pulpit.
