Jim: I bet few if any get minimum wage in Alaska.

koan: ironically, we have very strong unions in Alaska. Thank god. although since the republicans took over during the last 20 years they have tried to get rid of them or injure them

Even though we are a very conservative some somehow we managed to elect some very strong democratic governors and one liberal republican governor Jay Hammand who protected the unions.

When we were building the Alaska pipeline it was ALL union, so we were paid fair wages and had rights.

We also have a strong temsters union which has questionable ethics-lol, but does keep unions strong and helps working people. But it does involve selling ones soul to the devil-lol.

The rest of the high wages are supply and demand related. No one up here and lots of work to do.
