The chances of flooding in my neighborhood are next to zero. I am in a zone that is 200 ft. from another zone in which mortgage companies do not require flood insurance.

Being close to the river is great because the land was raised over the years by the spring floods.

I can always evacuate after the main event to our hotel in Baton Rouge so I am not looking at an extended period of time without amenities.
