I'm not a mind reader but if he was thinking he had to do something that would set people like you off running around like scared rabbits, clucking and gossiping, ranting and raving out of control, attacking the character of a decent, honorable, and amazing woman ... he succeeded.

It's quite a spectacle, remarkable really.
