Y'all are missing the point here. This is an extremely VICIOUS rumour.

Palin has a perfect opportunity to address it, have her doctor address it, etc.. and show off the birth certificate, and display for the entire media the lengths to which the lefties will go to impugn her integrity.

I see it as a true case of self-destructive rumour mongering that can be taken advantage of by the McCain campaign, if played properly. But they need to let the Democratic leadership pull enough rope into their grasp so they can be easily hung with it when the time is right.

Personally speaking, for Palin to pull off such a cover-up would rival a CIA covert op. There would be so many people to "hush up", each of whom could make a ton of money revealing the story to the muckrakers. Hell, Ted Stevens would have given his left testicle for that kind of information in order to discredit her.

So I'm not giving it a lot of credence. But it's a sign of the desperation that is going on for the Democratic side for them to initiate such rumours.

And on the slim chance that it's actually true, then obviously she would not be a worthy candidate (or Governor). And it would certainly be an embarrassment for the McCain team that vetted her.
