When Palin debates Biden, all she needs to do is turn every foreign policy question toward energy and then remind us that Joe Biden voted against the Alaskan pipeline.

Problems with Putin in Georgia....

"You're right Joe, this is a serious issue, it's about the oil pipeline running through Georgia that Russia wants control of. Oil pipelines are the life blood of economic development. Russia is willing to go to war over the one running through Georgia.

It's a good thing your judgement didn't prevail in the mid 70's and America built the Alaskan Oil pipeline. Without that pipeline safely moving billions of barrels of oil to the lower 48, we would be in an even worse shape today. Knowing the names of foreign leaders, and chatting on the phone, is far less important than working with the American people to rid ourselves of dependence on foreign sources of energy. You have been in the Senate for 36 years, voted against the Alaskan Oil pipeline and voted against drilling for billions of barrels of oil off the coast and in ANWR. The problem isn't foreign dictators like Putin, it's Senators like yourself doing nothing to solve the energy problem for the American people."

Response from the crowd - standing ovation. Debate over. :-)
