I dont know how the palin choice will work out. Usually in the end veeps change nothing. Think Quayle. I will say this.
1. She changes the debate between experience and change that mccain was losing, especially after the biden choice sort of neutralized mccains advantages. But it wasnt really working anyway.
2. It gives the dems several opportunities for their left to shoot themselves in the foot if the obama campaign cant control them. Abortion stridency used against palin will play both ways. Ineexperience charges also play both ways with mccain doing ther reverse of biden and say i will teach the novice well where biden says i will guide the novice well.
3. Biden to me has been unimpressive so far. All we get is that he had a compelling personal tragedy in his life and that he takes amtrak every night to make the trip to delaware and most importantly that he knows the conductors by first name. Well Duh, he has been travelling amtrak for the 35 years.
4. I also do have some personal knowledge that i cant go in detail about that tells me that she has been a good governor will a total handle on energy issues. And she fought Exxon et al and won in taxation matters.

So far this hasnt changed my decision to vote obama but where i might have been 75%, now i might be 60% and for others closer to the 50/50 area, it might have put them in mccains camp for the time being. Again veep affects are usually zero but if this nominee changes the thrust of the mccain campaing from experience to reform, he has a real shot. A few days after the dem convention, next series of polls may show mccain ahead. That would be the mother of all shockers. Once in the lead, i think more will reconsider and obama might end up as underdog come mid-september.
