I spent a lot but had given them ahead of time the amount I could afford to spend. They chose to go all out and had to pay the rest themselves.

Frankly, I do not like weddings at all. Overdone, and the bride of course thinks she is the only one who ever got married. Give them a gift,wish them well, and stay home.

I prefer smaller celebrations with family and close friends, with a reception preferably at home.

I must be a curmudgeon. <g>
