What we have now is one school of thought that says it's not necessary to have thought about, written about, spoken about or ever worked on the key issues of our time. That pretty much goes along with the idea that science doesn't matter, "values" are reduced to a series of social issue positions, etc. It's all about dressing up ordinary stories as some kind of dreamy crusade, with almost no actual achievements to bolster the assertion. But again, no one is focusing on what happens if McCain-Palin are elected with 50.x% and an increased Democratic majority in both houses of Congress. Only Lane will truly be happy with that outcome. All the other folks who are lost in ecstasy about all the rightwing positions the White House will hold, will be as frustrated as they are now, after eight years of conservative rightwing ideological government. Congress and the public won't buy it much to start, and they will be really sick of it after a year or two. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results...
