I feel that Cap-and-Trade for carbon credits is a good way to get industry to innovate to reduce their carbon footprint. But I wasn't writing a comprehensive treatise on the subject. (For example, I believe that air pollution additions to power plants (like scrubbers) ought to expensed - rather than treated as capital improvements - to encourage their use.) I do believe that higher gas taxes are a good idea - but it is a regressive tax,and I would like it to be revenue neutral. There is much to discuss in this regard. I was merely responding to hobo's comment.
