Senate is the obvious route. She's got the popularity to beat almost anyone. Besides resources, she also has experience in Native American issues.

I think she should bail out of this VP gig.

I dunno, I haven't seen any evidence of expertise those issues either. Which isn't to say that she doesn't have any, but just being from Alaska doesn't give someone expertise in natural resource issues. I've seen people like Jane Byrne become Mayor of Chicago and Spiro Agnew become County Commissioner, Governor of MD, and VP, and neither one of them should have had any of those jobs. It was just a fluke of being in the right place at the right time, and my guess is that that is Palin's story as well.

I still think that she won't, at the end of the day, be the candidate. But we'll see what other surprises this already very surprising election holds over the next few weeks.
