Before we all applaud this woman, surely we ought to see her in action more and hear her actually talk about the issues. You are reacting to Brooks' view; not mine. I haven't seen enough yet to make up my mind. As for Jane Byrne, I watched that from a distance with more than a little interest. And I agree with your judgment on it. We lived in Chicago and Evanston from the summer of 63 to the summer of 69. Grad school and some other stuff. So Chicago politics fascinated me. And, because our work in the first year involved a lot of activity on the south side and we lived on the west side, my wife and I had some sense of the geography as well.
