People at confirmation hearings are supposed to show deference to Senators, why I don't know. Perhaps it was more true 20 years ago before the politicization of Senate confirmations had become so pronounced. Biden isn't going to get any chance to question Palin directly and only one to debate her. Unfortunately for him, she stands on equal ground with him there and is free to attack him - more free than he is to attack her, in fact, by virtue of her sex. If he tries acting like a jerk there, he will be the loser.
