John, for the record I am all for government building infrastructure. Even that massive black hole of tax money called the "Big Dig" produced something tangible.

Serving the common defense of this nation is also something I believe in. Ah-nuld here in CA may be dodging the issue of illegal immigration when he says it's a federal problem, but he's right. This isn't something individual states should be doing, and relying on neo-militia groups like the Minutemen is problematic at best.

However, relying on the government for all your health care needs is not an example of "limited government," because the needs are almost infinite, especially in a society becoming more and more hooked on prescription meds.

Same thing with the "fight against global warming." Whether you think it's overblown or not, you can't argue that the limits of global warming legislation are clear and concise. On the contrary, such legislation tends to take on a life of its own. Is it really worth it for an effect that is clearly within the statistical deviation for long-term weather predictions?
