Historically (on this forum) there's some truth to that. But not lately... been pretty much all over the map.

Maybe all these interventions have made investing a totally whack-o endeavor, and everybody has lost their grip?

I for one have no idea which balloon will be inflated next and where the Enron-style implosion will happen next and, in spite of Mish not comprehending the GS- or Enron-style manipulation or conspiracy or whatever, where the next GS- or Enron-style manipulation/distortion/intervention/conspiracy will next unfold.

What has interested me more of late is how somebody smart about 12-18 months ago posted this thesis that the world ending would result in a strong dollar. So is this rally here to stay?

How does gold do in stagflation, historically? Maybe too few examples to have much of a trend.

All the best, Jim,

Ben
