Well if the Republicans win, we will have the first woman VP of the US. Palin isn't the first female VP candidate (which may have bee Marietta Stow for the "National Equal Rights Party" in 1884, even though she only got a few thousand votes), or even the first female VP candidate of a major party (Ferraro).
