"economies go in cycles"

that's why AVERAGES are important. And on average, Dems have been "luckier" than Pubs.

Bush has been cooking the economic numbers lately, so I'm not sure I trust his job growth numbers. Just recently we saw that they started adding in birth/death rates so they created jobs out of assumptions, not actual figures. I'd have to research it to give you all the facts, but we discussed it on the neolib RE thread.

Toss in the "substitution" factor now allowed in calculating inflation (if steak is too expensive, you can substitute chicken), and you begin to wonder about the rest of the numbers too.

OVER THE 8 YEAR PERIOD OF CLINTON'S ADMINISTRATION THE COUNTRY ADDED ABOUT 20 MILLION JOBS AND INFLATION ADJUSTED FAMILY INCOME GREW BY 7,000; SINCE BUSH TOOK OFFICE TOTAL JOBS ADDED TO THE ECONOMY ARE JUST ABOUT 2 MILLION AT BEST AND DECLINING AND INFLATION ADJUSTED FAMILY INCOME IS DOWN MORE THAN 1,500 DOLLARS. THERE ARE CERTAIN EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES FOR BUSH, PARTICLUARLY 9/11 AND THE Y2K EXCESSES AND THE STOCK DECLINES , BUT DO NOT FORGET CLINTON'S EARLY YEARS WERE ALSO MARKED BY A HANGOVER FROM THE BUSH 1 DOWNTURN, SO HE ALSO HAD TOUGH CIRCUMSTANCES TO DEAL WITH.

BUSH IS ALSO BANKRUPTING THIS COUNTRY, THE OPPOSITE HAPPENED UNDER CLINTON.
