Who is this guy? Is he an American?

He writes for the "Asian Times" under the pseudonym of Oswald Spengler (1880-1936), German author, writer of The Decline of the West. Has become quite well known for his column. But keeps his identity secret.

I read somewhere that Spengler's real name is one we would all recognize.

It's a mystery why a writer that good would want to use a pseudonym.
