Palin Slashed Funding for Teen Moms

The story claims, based on Palin's line item markup of a 2008 appropriation bill where she marks through the figure $5,000,000 and writes in $3,900,000, that she "slashed funding" for the Covenant House Alaska. This description, of course, presumes that the 2007 state grant to CHA was something more than $3.9 million. Well, you guessed it - it wasn't. In fact, the 2007 grant, which represented a roughly 12% increase from 2006, was only $1.34 million.

So, a near triple in one year, but in WaPo it's a "slashed" appropriation.
