Now we can contain em in SW and get some sort of hybrid iraq up and running as a positive example for the middle east. No sure thing but worth the try. They have a government up which is totally dysfunctional, corrupt and unfriendly to the US. It will get more so... and the longer we stay the more they will hate us (and love the Iranians). Worst foreign policy idiocy in US history. There is nothing that is going to redeem it... thinking you can make silk out of a sows ear just makes things worse.
