To me its a non-issue but the radical right wants to tar obama with ayres as if he drove the getaway car or something. Hell obama was an infant then. FORGET FOR THE MOMENT AYRES IS A TERRORIST. Surely, you do not assert that Ayres is anything other than an EXTREME LEFT WINGER? Correct? Forget he tried to kill other Americans. His politics are clear, even today. The man is as extreme as you can get. The cold, hard reality is that there is some common thread between these two or the relationship would never have developed. Ayres was attracted to Obama because of a like-mindedness which implies that Ayres saw the same kind of radical mindset in Obama as he saw in himself.

Michael, Brumar and Inode keep quoting from the 2001 article I dont think its clear what he thinks about what he did then. Anytime is a good time for Ayers (sp?) to come out and say what he did was wrong (use violence instead of demorcatic process). Today for example is as good a day as any. In absence of such a renounciation of violence and asking for forgiveness, he is a fair game to be painted as an unrepentant terrorist. Joe
