I thought it relevant to the discussion of Palin, and possible alternatives.

The problem that McCain introduced with Palin is that he shut down not one but two lines of persuasion - that Obama is too inexperienced, and that Hillary voters who don't like Obama (because of the tough campaign) should switch to him. We've discussed the former ad nauseum, but the later is what I think is showing up in the recent polls.

I believe if Palin even simply supported McCain's abortion position - with the exceptions - it wouldn't have worked so much against him. But, Hillary voters are now being driven into Obama's camp by Palin's hardline 'no exceptions' stance.

But, really, just how many people are truly undecided at this point? Most polls have been within the margin for error (which, given recent polling history, is probably more like 7%-10% than the 2%-3% that they claim).
