On Palin the verdict is still out, until tonight. She has a shot with those reagan dems, both men and women. She needs to be seen as everywomen hockey mom with family problems like a teen pregnancy going along for the ride. If she is both humanized and seems competent, she will be a net gain for mccain.

If hypocracy is THE issue for you, don't you find it interesting (or dare I asy hypocritical) for Obama and his media acolytes to question Palin's experience?

Interesting argument. Obama, under blistering attack by mccain for lack of experience, is the hypocrite for pointing out that his opponent has just hired a second in command that has exactly the same "flaw"?

I think you are underestimating the number of people (many Catholics, for example) who are conservative and at the same time registered Democrat. Because of the high profile primaries, they came out and kept Hillary alive in later primaries. Some of the conservative Democrats (or Reagan Democrats) as well as independents are in play, IMO.

These are not absolute statements...but Clinton followers are not anti abortion, they are not hunters, they don't believe in creationism in the schools, etc...
