it was the first poll out, I am waiting for any others. However, as has been stated by McCain staffers and others, McCain needed/wanted the Hillary vote and this Palin pick appears to be directed at that group, so Emily's list is the perfect demographic poll for that. He already had "THE BASE". This disastrous pick of Palin drove a wedge between McCain and the undecideds who were looking at him as a Maverick. Yes Palin is a maverick too, in the same way Lyndsey Lohan is a maverick.
