:-)
My girls like the band reviews. They think they are fun- and having been to several, I have to say I really love them. I especially enjoy the percussion competitions.

Yeah, my boys weren't too good at taking orders either, I'm afraid. Although sports has plenty of that.
Swimming was a great team sport because it's highly individual. It hinges on your own personal bests most of the time, which are reflected in your times, but has the team aspect with the relays, and the team totals.

Like Syb with the band kids, we had the absolute best kids in swim, too. Kids who cared a lot about their health-- you really can't mess around when you can get beat by a 100th of a second. They didn't drink at all, and they liked each other. Gosh we were lucky. They still get together. And the parents were very close which was nice. You get to be friends sitting hour after hour at meets waiting for your son to swim his 22 second 50 free. I got a lot of reading done, too. We never missed a meet. Never missed a show, never missed the big UN conference, never missed a ballgame, never missed...
hmm.
Maybe that's why my kids live in LA and San Fran??
Haaaa. We still never missed a show there either. They can't get away.
