Asymmetric -

Good point.

Since McCain isn't going to win, she won't have to worry about being shoved aside.

By the way, I've been sitting here thinking about the speeches I saw tonight. What surprises me is the sarastic, mocking, and nearly contemptuous tone taken with respect to the opposition by Giuliani, and to a slightly lesser extent by Palin. It seems to be very much at odds with the kind of campaign McCain promised us.

I don't remember the Democrats being as snide or disrespectful of the Republicans.

My own guess is that, should the unlikely happen and McCain win, the kitchen cabinet will be himself, Lindsay Graham, Joe Lieberman, and Phil Gramm. It will not include Sarah Palin. We'll go back to the old model of vps--ceremonial.
