There's some mildly interesting activity in the State of Nevada's prosecution of Mad Mikey. Looks like Mikey submitted a motion for a new trial on 28 August. The State opposed that on 11 September, and Mikey replied to that on 14 October.

No minutes for any of this, so I have no idea on what grounds he believes he has the right to a new trial. He's still set for sentencing on the 23rd, but I'm guessing that won't happen unless there's a ruling on his motion first.

Then there's the other case. It was supposed to have been settled by negotiation back in August, but apparently that fell through. Now the trial is scheduled for 6 April 2009, but you know how it goes with Mikey and trial dates.
