Why would you assume that? Sure, it could happen, but history tells us it's not likely.

I agree with that, Dale, and the chip she will have to play will be larger than in the past. Should they win, the further right of the party will be able to claim a great deal of credit.

I suspect, however, that will give McCain even more reason to keep her out of the room when the serious decision making takes place. She will be someone "to be managed" not brought into decision making.

But I think McCain's winning just grew a great deal less likely with the Palin nomination.
