Jolting is one word. Rambi's reaction is akin to my own. The only reason for posting them is (1) she was still elected governor even saying things like that (although Jane Byrne was elected Mayor of Chicago and also said some pretty outlandish things--the timing was right), and (2) she is now the VP nominee.

I don't doubt that some people will like them. You can always find some people to like nearly any quote.

Of course, perhaps if we saw the context, we'd find that she was in a jocular mood and was just having fun. That would be a relief if so.
