There is more to vetting than just asking specifics about DWIs and the like. One of the most important parts of the process is to float the name around and guage the reaction to it. Nothing was served by keeping it a big secret, and McCain lost a great deal of information about how the pick would be received.

That's just stupid!

Oh please........the vetting was not done on Palin. That's as obvious as the partisanship in your posts.

What question do you know was not asked?

I know McCain's vetting crew did not hit the ground until the day before she was announced as his VP pick. I know that people in Alaska that have worked with her, know her, live in the same community, work for the city, work for the state etc say no one has asked them about her until the media showed up on Friday. I know that no one had gone into the media's archives in Alaska until the media from the lower 48 made contact.

Don't forget that the NE is saying she had an affair.....just like they did with Edwards. What are the evangelicals going to do if that's true......blame it on her husband?

That question was asked, and I presume answered satisfactorily.

Ah....yes. The McCain campaign had her fill out a questionnaire. That was her vetting. Glad you feel comfortable with that.
