Given how much the rightwing base loves her, Palin could easily be a power within the party if they lose this time and decide the answer is to move further right. They like her more than Huckabee or Romney, for sure.

Palin won't be a power in the party, really, although she will have a public place in it. But her views are too far right for the majority of Americans.

I just watched her speech. She's very good at making political speeches. I can see why the convention audience ate it up. I'd definitely say "she will have a public place in it."
