Anyway Pickens in his ads is putting it pretty well, we use 25% of the worlds oil and have 3% of the reserves. Give him a very generous 100% margin of error and he's still right that we won't ever drill our way out of the problem. 25% of the worlds oil and 3% of the reserves, doesn't imply anything about drilling our way of of the problem, its an interesting sound byte, but not by itself a rational argument. More importantly no one is saying "we should do nothing but drill for more oil", so your attacking a straw man.
